Reflections of Graduation: Milton Miller

       Milton Miller Speaking With Graduate

Having attended both graduation ceremonies on Saturday I came away with several reflections:

  • WOW, our graduates clean up pretty good.
  • It was very hard to tell who were the proudest, the graduates or their family and friends.
  • These graduates came a long way to celebrate their graduation, not just 2 or 3 hours away but most of them 2 or 3 states away.
  • Many of them had only begun their educational journey and had already made plans to continue their education to the next level.
  • I was touched by the number of different places and different jobs they had had and what they were working towards for their next job.

But most of all I was struck by the fact that I am blessed to work in a field and with a university that is in the business of helping people help themselves.

I began the Teacher’s Assistant course on 10-10-07 when I got my first book I was so delighted I finished the first book that day and that motivation stayed with me through out this course which I completed on 10-23-07. I finished this lesson and score an A on the over all average and a GPA of 4.0, I was so happy I couldn’t sleep all night….Thanks This School is SIMPLY THE BEST

I enrolled into Small Business Management, not quite sure if I chose the right school. I too was so excited that I finished the first module in less than a week; still unsure of what Ashworth University had to offer. I am now in my last module, holding a grade point average of 4.0 and am very proud to be a student of AU. There is no doubt in my mind that I have chosen the right school.
I have often wondered what I would do to celebrate my graduation, how I would simulate walking acroos the stage for my family to see. I am even more proud today, to see that I wont have to simulate at all. Reading about the 2007 graduates has encouraged me even further.
    AU “is” SIMPLY THE BEST!

YES!! I am so happy to know that I can have a real graduation after I have finished my course work here at Ashworth. The school’s marketers should do more to get the word out that graduations are real and not virtual. I think that knowledge would excite a lot of people and encourage many to enroll.

    In response to poster Lynette-
I agree! I think the marketers are missing alot of would be students by not publicizing this graudation ceremony more. I just chanced upon this blog on accident! My husband is finishing up Ashworth’s high school program and was losing his motivation until I told him about the ceremony. He’s very enthusiastic right now. Since seeing this page he is looking forward to continuing his education with Ashworth and pursing his associate’s degree.

A virtual graduation wouldn’t be bad either for the students who couldn’t make it. Perhaps have a live feed to the graduation and video of it afterwards instead of only pictures? Just a thought!

We’ve been getting several questions related to the next graduation ceremony. We’re currently in the process of determining a date. As soon as we have determined a date, I can guarantee that we’ll be providing everyone with plenty of advanced notice. We’ll discuss all the details on the blogs, the website, in emails, etc. We’re very excited to see your enthusiasm. The graduation ceremony is an event of such importance and value to our entire Ashworth community: faculty and students. Once again, when a date has been determined, you will be the first to know!
