My Proudest Moment

The proudest moment of my life was when I walked off the stage in my cap and gown and my five year-old son said to me “you did good mommy, I am proud of you.” My husband and I stress the importance of education to both our kids; one day my daughter asked me why we (my husband and I) never attended college. I knew then that I would have to put aside my inhabitations and be that example to them.

I chose Ashworth University because I was unsure as to what kind of student I would be. Upon my enrollment into Ashworh, I was already a non-traditional student without the best high school GPA. I wanted a school that would allow me to build my self-esteem about learning in the privacy of my own home. Ashworth gave the confidence to pursue my dream of becoming a University graduate. When I finished my degree program, my children had little reaction. There were no caps and gowns or ceremony, so they did not understand the significance of my degree.

I was elated to learn that Ashworth was celebrating the success of their graduates. Now, my children get it, and it gave me a true sense of accomplishment to be recognized by the school. Thanks to Ashworth University, I was able to transfer my credits to a regionally accredited University, (Ashford University-online) and I will graduate in December of 07 with my BA in psychology.
