Graduation Ceremony Design Contest Winners Announced!

GRADUATION CEREMONY DESIGN CONTEST WINNERS

Virginia Bermudez of Tennessee, a student in the Ashworth University Master’s Degree program, won Grand Prize in our Graduation Ceremony Design Contest. Her design, featured here, will appear on graduation promotional materials. Virginia’s inspiration came from her vision of Ashworth as the start of a “new beginning for me, with a new mind and a better self, a better mom and a better wife and of course a better professional.” Virginia is a Visual Communications Developer for Electrolux.

Said Virginia, “All the things in my design are my dream, my goal and what I am. It’s part of my growth. When I decided to get my Master’s Degree in Management, I realized Ashworth is a big key to the future. I will have a world of opportunities in my hands and be a ‘black belt’ in terms of knowledge.”

Virginia has three children, ages 13, 5 and 4. They and her husband fully support her educational pursuits. Of course, Virginia and her family “love the fact that I’m able to give time to them, that I’m not away from home while getting my master’s degree. It does take work, however. Virginia is often up at 5:00am to study before work.

Of Ashworth, Virginia feels there is “nothing better. The convenience, the faculty and everything else is better than what’s out there.”

Congratulations, Virginia!!!

First Place Winner

First place winner Kelly Mergens of California is a graduate of our Forensic Science course. The mother of two teens and married 22 years, Kelly looks forward to a career as a forensic phlebotomist.

Kelly feels everything about her program was “top-notch.” This is reflected in the quote she incorporated in her design. About her Ashworth education, she has “felt positive about the whole thing and I’ve been telling people, don’t mess with those other schools – pick Ashworth.”

Congratulations, Kelly!
